Threshold — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
Threshold is a personal digital-wellbeing app made by Mindful Monkeys. This page explains what the app does with your information.
Short version
Threshold does not collect, store, or send any of your personal data anywhere. Everything the app needs to work stays on your phone, in your phone’s storage, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There are no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers in the app.
What the app accesses on your device, and why
- Usage Access — to detect when you open an app you’ve chosen to lock, so Threshold can show its pause screen. This check happens entirely on your device.
- Display over other apps — to show the pause/lock screen on top of the app you’re opening.
- Step count (Health Connect, optional) — if you choose to use step-based unlocking, Threshold reads your daily step count from Health Connect to check whether you’ve hit your goal. This data is read, used, and discarded on-device — it is never stored beyond what’s needed to show your daily progress, and never leaves your phone.
- Notifications — to send you a daily reminder to fill in your checklist, if you turn this on.
- Boot / background operation — so blocking continues to work after your phone restarts, without needing you to reopen the app.
What we don’t do
- We don’t collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any personal identifiers.
- We don’t use accessibility services to read what’s on your screen.
- We don’t send any data off your device — there are no servers involved in how the app works.
- We don’t share, sell, or otherwise disclose any information, because none is collected in the first place.
Data deletion
Since nothing leaves your device, uninstalling Threshold removes all app data immediately and completely.
